Job Description:

The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants is seeking exceptional applicants for the position of Staff Accountant. The primary responsibility of the GL Staff Accountant is to assist and facilitate the monthly closing of the FICPA books. In addition, the position will provide accounting support to the Director of Accounting and CFO. The applicant will be required to have experience with general ledger entries and reconciliations. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepare and post journal entries and update support schedules necessary to reconcile and close FICPA books in a timely manner each month.

  2. Reconcile daily credit card receipts, identify reconciling items, assist with generating refunds. 

  3. Post FICPA ACH/EBT entries. 

  4. Process, prepare and mail invoices at least weekly as well reconcile AR and subsidiary accounts, send statements on a monthly basis.  

  5. Initiate ACH approval process weekly.  

  6. Reconcile corporate AMEX monthly, process appropriate entries. 

  7. Reconcile conference revenues and expenses.

  8. Assist with annual 1099 reporting.

 ***The FICPA will be relocating to Orlando, FL by December 2022. Note that this position will have the opportunity to relocate at that time, pending positive performance***

Experience and Skills:

Position requires an associate’s degree in accounting or related field and two years of experience in accounting, general ledger, and data entry. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for required degree on a year by year basis. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
